Taking the Kids to a Game in Fargo-Moorhead

NDSU football starts at $53 a seat, with no youth price; NDSU volleyball is $6 for a child and NDSU soccer is free. That spread is the thing to know first, so the fall games below are sorted by what it costs to bring a child, cheapest first, followed by what starts in winter and what waits for summer. Every price and rule is the organization's own, read on its own site. The Fargodome and Scheels Arena get a box of their own, because the bag and food rules belong to the building, not the team.

Before you go: the building's rules
Bag, food and stroller rules are set by the arena, so they apply to every team and event inside it.

NDSU football's building. Bags larger than 13 by 13 inches are refused unless medically necessary, and a refused bag is not stored: it goes back to the car. Diaper bags are let in as a necessity, searched and tagged with a colored band. No outside food or drink, and a water bottle must be plastic, clear and empty. Noise makers, air horns and balloons are banned. Strollers are allowed "on an event by event basis", so call (701) 241-9100 before you bring one. Everyone walks through a metal detector, and there is no re-entry. Changing tables are in every women's restroom, and a family restroom and a mother's room are on the second floor. You can register a child for the Tag-A-Tot program when you arrive.

The Fargo Force's building. Bags are searched, and "large bags" and "oversized bags, backpacks" are banned without a size given, so bring the smallest bag you can. No outside food or drink, and a water bottle must be clear. It is cashless at the box office and concessions, parking is free, and doors open an hour before games. The mothers' room in the upper lobby has a changing table. No re-entry.
