Indoor Play in Fargo-Moorhead: What It Costs and What to Bring
Trampoline parks, slides, skating, bowling and pools — with the grip-sock rules, waivers, age minimums and session times nobody publishes in one place.
Every detail here was read off the venue's own site, and where a venue does not publish something this page says so rather than guessing. That matters more here than on most pages: the fastest way to waste a Saturday is to drive twenty minutes with a four-year-old and find out at the counter that the slides are five-and-up, or that socks are mandatory and sold separately. Prices and hours move, so the date on each entry is when we last read it — and the link always goes to the venue, not to us.
Trampoline & slide parks
The energy-burners. Both require socks and a signed waiver, and both have a hard age line worth knowing before you drive.
Slick City Action ParkFargo
Indoor slides and air courts. CitySocks are required for anyone with an Action Ticket, and they are yours to keep and re-use, so bring the last pair. Every guest needs a waiver whether they are playing or not, and under-18s must have theirs signed by a parent or guardian; you can do it online before you go. The slides are strictly 4 and up, and Junior Jungle, the soft-play zone, is for 5 and under. Spectators do not pay admission, though they still need a waiver on file and get their own wristband.

NRG Adventure ParkFargo
Trampolines, an airtrack court and a toddler zone. Toddler Rush is reserved for guests 7 and younger — a genuinely different experience from open jump, with the big kids out of the way. Their own jump socks are required and no other grip sock is permitted, so a pair you already own from somewhere else will not do. Waivers are handled through their site, and general admission is priced on their ticket store rather than on the park page.

Play cafés
A play space with a coffee bar attached, built so the adult who brought them can sit down. One of these in the metro.
Gathered FMWest Fargo
A screen-free indoor play space — sensory toys, toddler soft play, themed setups — run alongside a coffee and dirty-soda bar with seating meant for a parent with a laptop. It trades as Gathered FM (Birthday Bliss FM); the rebrand from Birthday Bliss is carried on their own pages, footer included, rather than only in press coverage. There is also a fine arts studio, and drop-in music classes whose first session is free. A play pass includes one drink and one snack from their self-serve fridge.

Skating & bowling
Both run specific family sessions that are easy to miss — and at the bowling alley, easy to get badly wrong.
Skate City FargoFargo
Roller skating on Interstate Boulevard. Standard admission is $8 for a two-hour session with skate rental $5 on top, but the thing worth knowing is the family membership: $10 per person per year gets you four free sessions every week: Friday 4–6pm and 6–8pm, Saturday 10am–12pm and Sunday 6–8pm. Skate rental is not included. Every skater needs their own membership, and at least one registered adult has to be present.

West Acres Bowling — Family CosmicFargo
Read this one carefully, because the name is doing a lot of work. West Acres runs four cosmic sessions and three of them are late at night — Monday 10pm to 1am, Friday and Saturday 11pm to 1:45am, with pitcher deals and karaoke next door. Their page labels all four “All Ages Welcome”, but the one built for families is the Saturday afternoon session. Their own page is inconsistent about it: the schedule block says 3:30–5:30pm at $8 for bowling and shoes, while the description underneath says 3–5pm and $7 a bowler. Walk-ins are welcome but they suggest calling ahead to check lanes are free, which is worth doing anyway to pin down the time.

Plains Art MuseumFargo
Admission is always free — the museum's own standing promise rather than a promotion. Big open downtown galleries, hands-on family programming and an open ceramics studio. It opens every day from 11am to 5pm, and until 9pm on Thursdays.

Proper outings rather than energy-burns.
Fargo Air MuseumFargo
Real aircraft at close range, plus an interactive area aimed at ages 2 to 6. Adults 12 and up are $15, children 5 to 11 are $10, and 4 and under get in free. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm; closed Sunday and Monday.

Hjemkomst CenterMoorhead
A full-size Viking ship replica and a stave church under one roof, which is a strange and excellent thing to have in Moorhead. Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm, and admission is $12 for an adult, $8 for ages 5 to 17 and free under 5. The visit to plan around is Tuesday evening, when it is free from 5 to 8pm.

Thunder Road Family Fun ParkFargo
Half of it is outdoors — go-karts, mini golf, bumper cars — but the arcade and the multi-level laser tag arena are indoor, which makes it a genuine bad-weather option rather than a summer-only one. Their own site publishes hours but not general admission, so the price is the thing to ring about.

Pools & rec centers
The metro's indoor water, plus somewhere to run when it is too cold for anywhere else. If you want a workout of your own while they play, the YMCA's drop-in childcare is on our gyms page.
Hulbert Aquatic CenterWest Fargo
The metro's indoor public swimming, run by West Fargo Public Schools rather than the park district. Open Swim uses the warm-water lesson pool, which is the shallower and warmer of the two and the one you want with small children — but the times move with the competition schedule and are not published as a standing timetable, so check their calendar rather than turning up. Tot Time runs in summer on most Fridays 9 to 10am, and the venue is explicit that offerings vary. Supervision is required throughout: children 6 and under must be within arm's reach of an adult in the water or wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket, and for 3 and under the venue says an adult should be in the water with them. Admission is $3, or $10 for a family of two adults and up to four children.

Rustad Recreation CenterWest Fargo
An indoor playground plus courts, indoor turf and a track. Open gym, volleyball and pickleball run on a schedule that changes weekly and the district does not publish it as a standing timetable. The building keeps two different sets of hours across the year, and the indoor playground does not always close when the building does — read both lines below rather than one. Their own page gives the turf as 35 by 70 yards in one place and 30 by 75 in another. No pool here, despite this being the park district’s main building.
